The Mentally Retarded Welfare Society (MRWS) is a legally registered, non-profit organization based in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India. For over five decades, our absolute calling has been to serve as a physical shield and a spiritual home for individuals the world has forgotten. Through our primary facility, St. Faustina Bala Sadhan, we provide continuous sanctuary, medical monitoring, full nutrition, and human dignity to permanent residents, including vulnerable children, special needs youth, and abandoned elderly.
Our foundational journey began over 50 years ago, driven by a deep spiritual commitment to grassroots service. Formally registered with the District Registrar of Guntur on April 29, 1987 (Reg No. 113/1987), the society has evolved from a humble outreach program into a highly structured institutional sanctuary. Under the continuous spiritual guidance and leadership of our founder, Fr. Addagatla Showraiah, we have spent decades protecting marginalized souls, ensuring that extreme hardship is met with comprehensive care, safety, and love.
To ensure the highest standards of international trust, accountability, and transparency, MRWS operates under strict statutory regulations. The society is fully FCRA compliant, registered with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, allowing us to securely receive and audit international grants. All global funding is processed transparently through our designated institutional account at the State Bank of India (SBI), New Delhi Main Branch, managed by an active and accountable governing board.
